The technology is frustrating. untold changes of computer in order to find one that would log me on. Enough of that. Just need to say books have never prevented me from entering their worlds. Still don't know what delicious is - other than an adjective to describe taste - but I may have conquered it by this evening. Intel is sort of taking shape - I think. Will let you know next session. Bel and Pat are very calm and patient. Many thanks to them for trying to smoothe these choppy waters of intel.
It is Sunday. I have spent all afternoon looking at the intel book and visiting the intel website and now I'm doing this.......whatever this is. I still have no idea why we are doing this course. so far it is irrelevant to my teaching and I have no intention of wasting my weekends devising intel programs for students who can barely read and have no higher order thinking skills. When looking through the intel site and existing teaching plans it was interesting to Not note the lowest age group was yrs 3-6. So why are we doing this? Rhetorical question. I want to weep at the enormous waste of time, money and energy that is going into this. Reminds me of the New Maths in the 70s. Over and out.
Wed 25/2
Visual ranking tools. Think I have some idea now. I am having trouble seeing reason about Seeing Reason. I think because I can't see the reason. Over and Out
sun 22/3
read Showing Evidence. I need someone to show me evidence that this course is going to revolutionise my teaching........excellent I now have a topic for Wed
Wed 25/3
okay lost enthusiasm for my evidence topic. As it doesn't fit my play idea I will just browse the unit examples and revisit when needs must.......Am thinking of doing a unit on Keynsian theory and the global financial crisis and I see the Showing Evidence Tool being a vital tool in the students' work
Belinda has really enthused me about the whole intel program
This is Deb's honest opinion - really
Thanks.
I was just kidding about using Keynes and the GFC with my students - their economic theory is very rudimentary. But I'm sure it could be useful for an Economics teacher somewhere.
